I have a great, newfound respect for people who can use the pen tool consistantly in Photoshop/Illustrator. That thing is insane and requires more determination than I possess on a regular level. However, today I had an idea and, damnit, once I started I wasn't going to stop.
I wasn't originally going to share this as it is related to a bigger art project I'm doing for school (and therefore less exciting). It's also so far outside of my normal thing that I don't really expect to get much of a reaction on it. But I thought I'd throw it up here in scraps because hey, if I'm going to spend half my day working on something, I may as well show you lot.
So definitely out of my usual style here. Inspired by the graffiti of [link] . All drawn with the pen tool in Photoshop over about 8 hours with a 5 second texture, backing and border thrown on to make it presentable.
This took me back to my old days of drawing with my mouse - only instead of drawing it was endless moving of anchor points.
completely know where you're comin from eheh, swirls and swiggles sure look good on other ppl's work and it makes you wonder how they do it to such perfection... there's always the cheating way of photoshop brushes lol... but it looks good, and also reading from your other comment.. the word is "life" ? i only saw it after it was mentioned but nice attempt and well done
I left this comment sitting in my message centre to reply to later but I'm still left with no words - your comments always make me smile because you are so sincere and sweet. All I can say is thank you for your faith.
I love swirly twirly things like this and I've always wanted to try my hand at it. It's the kind of thing I wouldn't mind getting printed or painted on a shirt.
sorry for the late replies, going through my messages from 2005 - present
