The unattainable desire to fly, the desire to improve ourselves by imitating the birds, is both absurd and beautiful.
Dreams are ridiculous yet precious; in chasing hopes we create amazing things. Part of my HSC Major work for Visual Arts. This guy is based on the White Faced Heron. For the work submitted for marking I removed the paper notes that are attached to the matte board. This is one of three charcoal pieces. I love charcoal. The reds and whites in this are from artist's chalks which are almost as fun. Materials: Charcoal, Cream matte board, artist's chalks, tiny bits of acrylic paint, feathers. Size: With black matting around the edges, 70x85cm (I apologise for the dodgy quality - these things are massive and my photography of art leaves much to be desired.)  |

We attempt to accomplish this by daily featuring Literature artists from around the community that deserve the recognition, but are not getting it. Each day we will feature 5 deviations from the Literature categories in a News Article. In order to support the artists that we feature, we ask that you  the news article as well as check out the individual pieces. We understand that each day you may not be able to check out each and every one of the pieces, everyone has their own things going on.
